Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat is a song that she recorded with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut album on Oct 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and she released the song as a single by herself for her first album. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to accompany the track. Within a week, it had over 3 million views. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
